tumblr
I’m debating switching MrCrowder.com from a WordPress site to a Tumblr site.
The only major downside to Tumblr is that it doesn’t allow comments. The minor downsides are that I can’t (without the help of custom HTML, which is a possibility) add any kind of Blogroll or Weblinks and it’s also not as web search friendly as Blogger and WordPress (meaning less traffic).
The upsides aren’t really that huge, except that I really would love some sort of micro-blogging opportunity that’s between a full blog and Twitter. The iPhone app for the Tumblr is much more capable than the WordPress app as well.
Any thoughts?

dude. stick with a real blog. you don’t need the simplicity. if you’re concerned about the app it’s ok, just use your computer.
serious. you’ll regret that move.
I don’t know. Why will I regret that move? It’s not even like WordPress offers much functionality…
Tumblr looks sloppy to me. It’s not as crisp (in my opinion) and on longer posts it feels just like too much to follow. I saw your post about community and I started to look at it, but it’s just too much.
I like your blog, your links, the ability to comment. You can do whatever you want and I’ll still subscribe to it, just my opinion.
I vote wordpress over tumblr if only for the privilege to comment. without the ability to comment the entire communal “networking” aspect of blogging seems to be missing. with tumblr more people will be able to “publish” their own thoughts without any type of accountability or communal learning.
so. i vote keep blogging classic style.
thanks Jon. Your voice weighs heavy.
Word. Also. If you still have no lunch plans for tomorrow I don’t either…
